Thanks for the great information on decluttering. One problem that I have is that my husband and I often disagree on what is clutter and what is needed. I can through stuff into the garbage and it gets removed and hidden in the garage. Now when I throw out stuff, I just take it directly to Good Will.
Hi Nan- you’re welcome. What you mention is very relatable- I think a lot of couples go through this. What helped me is talking with my husband, especially if it’s a sentimental object. Sometimes we disagree and then one of us comes around to a compromise (eventually 😂). I don’t know what category the objects you mentioned fall into (or what they are, if they’re sentimental, if there’s more than one item, etc), but sharing this if it’s helpful: I think decluttering by category really helps because then you can see how much you have of an item- like the 75 pairs of socks one of Aurelia’s clients had! A gentle invitation to try the prompts- maybe even invite your husband if he’s open to try them too (?)! Thanks so much for your comment! I appreciate you:).
Thank you so much, Jennifer. It was truly an honor to be part of this conversation and to share a bit of what I do through your beautiful platform. I’m so inspired by the way you connect inner reflection with practical action, and I’m already eyeing one of the prompts to try myself. I know it will help me connect even more deeply with my own space and habits. Grateful for this collaboration!
It was a pleasure to collaborate with you, Aurelia, and I love your prompts! I’ll try them as it’s time to go through another round of decluttering and pruning our space. I’m excited to share a second post on sentimental objects with more prompts soon:). Thank you for a lively chat, educational, fun and practical!
